The greens aeration scheduled for Tuesday, August 7th will be done with small (1/4") solid tines followed by topdressing. This is called "venting" the greens and will allow water to infiltrate more readily and for harmful gases to escape the rootzone. This type of aeration will not affect putting very much if at all. The larger diameter core aeration like we did in May will now be completed in the late fall and early spring. This will mean less disruption to the green surfaces during the main playing season and still allow us to achieve our long term goals for maintaining good greens.
