As we approach the start of the bunker renovation project, you will notice that the parking lot closest to the practice tees has been closed and a stockpile of sand has been placed there. We require approximately 1300 tons of ProAngle bunker sand to complete all of the bunkers which is about 60 truckloads. The sand is being imported from Ohio and we need to have a stockpile onsite as a buffer against any trucking delays as the project moves forward. We do not want to be in the situation where we have bunkers completed but are waiting for sand. The stockpile will continue until the project is completed in late fall. We will also be staging the rootzone mix for the 11th and 12th greens and the bunker drainage sand in the same area. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but this is the most suitable area to store the sand. Even though it may seem like the parking lot has space for cars, we require the extra room to turn the large trucks around. We can not fit these large trucks into our back compound off University Avenue and have very little room to store it there anyway.
