Happy Canada Day!

The news everyone was waiting for!

Showing some Canadian pride
It's hard to believe it's July 1st but here we are!  The weather has been very hot and humid with thunderstorms in the forecast for today.  Most of the rain has been missing us this year and we have been watering as necessary.  Much of our poa is showing signs of heat stress so the forecasted cooler temperatures will be welcome.

Our new and winter damaged greens have been holding up well so far and we will continue to be conservative with green speeds as we move forward.  Even though everything is looking reasonably good, we are still in recovery mode.  Aggressive maintenance practices could spell disaster and we still have a lot of golf left this year.  The following article from the USGA sums up the spring we had very well:  http://www.usga.org/course_care/regional_updates/northeast/Easy-Does-It

The following pictures sum it up even better!  It's quite amazing how far we've come in a short time isn't it?
