Upcoming Course Improvements

DURING THE NEXT WEEK OR SO, WE WILL BE COMPLETNG A COUPLE OF PROJECTS ON THE COURSE:

1. THE REGRADING OF #13 FAIRWAY FROM THE START OF THE FAIRWAY TO THE BUNKER.
This is similar to the work done between #5 and #13 and will smooth out the humps and hollows caused by uneven settling of the peat bog. This does not mean the fairway will be pool table flat but just that the small imperfections will be fixed. The existing sod will be stripped, the fairway regraded, and then the sod put back on. The tee blocks will be beyond the fairway bunker for about a week.

2. FIXING THE DRAINAGE PROBLEM AT THE RANGE TEES AND IMPROVING THE CART PATH.
As you have probably noticed, the cart path near the range tees has been ruined by a drainage problem. There is a large sink hole and the asphalt has buckled around it. We need to dig this area up (including some of the practice tee) to fix the drainage problem. The cart path and curbing from the range tees all the way up and around the first tee will be fixed at the same time. The paths in and around the first tee are not wide enough and the asphalt/curbing installed by the putting green and range tees is in poor condition. All of the asphalt will be removed, a proper subgrade installed, and new asphalt and curbing will be put on top. The tee blocks will be moved up to the red and yellow tees during this process.

Both of these projects will cause some inconvenience to golfers.

The reason for doing this now is due to weather concerns and the availability of asphalt. If it gets too cold, we would be without asphalt until next May. If the weather turns wet like it did last fall, the 13th fairway project would carry over into the spring which we wish to avoid.

We ask for your understanding during this time of upgrades.
