Drainage to be Installed in #3 Approach

During the week of August 31st - September 4th, a contractor will be onsite installing slit drainage in #3 approach. The hole will be closed during this time for the safety of the contractor and to complete the work efficiently.

The approach was designed to surface drain to the catch basin on the left hand side. A four inch collector drain was also installed in the swale in front of the green to assist the surface drainage. The wet weather we had earlier this year highlighted the drainage issues on #3. Even after a litle bit of rain, the entire approach would stay wet and the water would not "release" to the drains either on the surface or underground. The idea now is to install small drains on tight spacing throughout the approach. These drains will collect the water before it has a chance to accumulate. This method has been used on many golf courses with great success. Click on the following link for more information on the contractor and the methods being used: http://tdsdrainage.com/slit.html
